At a time when there was yet no U.S. Air Force (not until 1947) and no Air Force Academy (not until 1954), the Army Air Corps training program billed itself as the 'West Point of the Air' and recruited with posters such as this one. Not just any fella could be a 'flying cadet' the text stipulates 'unmarried men of excellent character, citizens of the United States, between 20 and 27 years of age, of sound physique and excellent health, who have completed at least one-half the credits for graduation from a four-year course of a recognized college or university, or who pass an examination which is equivalent thereof'. The poster design is something of a hodgepodge with an illustration of a Boeing 281 'Pea-Shooter' surrounded by documentary photographs of flying formations, a Curtis Condor, Vultee VT-11 and Seversky SEV3XAR. Art Prints are printed on heavy matte finish German art paper using the finest Canon archival inks. Quality Frame with a single white matboard and Acrylic glazing.

.

Stretched Canvas is stretched by hand over 1.5" thick pine bars and printed on cotton poly matte finish canvas. Each is canvas hand coated with Hahnemuhle UV/Archive coating, these are Swiss quality best in industry canvases.
